Welcome to our website! My name is Jerry Nikkel, and I am the owner/operator of Future Electric.
I began my electrical career in 1978 as a union electrician in San Jose, CA. After visiting friends in Modesto in the early 80's, my wife and I decided Modesto would be the perfect place to raise our young family. We bought our first home and moved our family to Modesto in the summer of 1985. After commuting to the Bay Area for several years, I obtained my Electrical Contractors license -- and Future Electric opened it's doors in April of 1989.
During the construction boom of the early 1990's, we were busy wiring tract homes. My time was spent supervising crews - and I found I missed working in the field. About that time, several builders I had worked with from day one moved into the custom home market. This allowed me to scale down the subdivision work, and focus on wiring custom homes instead.
I have specialized in custom homes and commercial electrical for the past 7 years- and I love it! Each job is unique, and each one gets my undivided attention. I enjoy working one-on-one with the general contractors, many whom I've worked with since the early 1990's.
